어바웃 타임 대본공부 - Scene 69 ~ 76

드디어 마지막입니다!!

오늘도 쉐도잉 영어공부를 시작해보겠습니다!

제가 쉐도잉으로 하는 영어공부 순서는 다음과 같습니다!

 

① 영상을 보면서 대본을 정리한다.

② 대본을 토대로 모르는 표현, 궁금한 표현에 밑줄을 친다.

③ 한영자막으로 다시 보면서 밑줄 친 표현들이 무슨 뜻인지, 어떻게 사용되는지 밑에 정리한다.

④ 자막 없이 다시 보면서 이해되는지 확인한다.

⑤ 블로그에 밑줄 친 단어와 표현들 정리한다.

- 단어를 정리할때는 명사는 한국어로 최대한 나머지는 사전에서 찾아 영어로!

⑥ 영어 자막으로 다시 보면서 쉐도잉한다.

- 입에 붙을 때까지 하기, 적어도 10번씩!

Scene 69 (1:42:52) 

Mary : So not such a bad day after all?

Tim : No. it was pretty good really.

Very good day, actually, as it turns out.

Mary : Well, that's a relief, because if it had been a very bad day, I thought I might have had to have had sex with you to make up for it.

Mary : Goodnight.

Tim : It was a very, very bad day. It went very, very badly.

I got fired from my job. And then I killed a man.

Mary : That is a very bad day.

Tim : It’s terrible.

Mary : Yeah.

Like the worst day ever.

Tim : Some days, of course, though, you only want to go through once.

Mary : You okay?

 

Scene 71 (1:44:48) 

Mum : Right, are we ready for this?

Harry : ’Course we're not. Hateful day.

Tim : Just give me one minute.

 

Scene 72 (1:45:21) 

Dad : This is so brilliant.

Dickens is so good on actual jokes, actual gags.

Tim : Oh. Immaculate.

Tim : Read away, I've got lots of time.

Dad : ’l think the Romans must have aggravated’ one another very much with their noses. 'Perhaps they became the restless people they were in consequence.

Scene 73 (1:47:48) 

Mary : What do you think about the kids?

Tim : What about them?

Mary : Not many of them, are there?

Tim : What?

Mary : Well, I mean two?

Tim : It’s more than the Chinese are allowed.

Mary : I just thought that maybe, you know, it was time for the insurance baby.

Tim : What?

Mary : In case one of them is really smart, we don't want the other one to feel stupid their whole life.

And if we had a third one, then we could have two happy dummies.

Tim : It was the toughest decision of my life. Saying 'yes' to the future meant saying ‘goodbye' to my dad. Forever.

Tim : Why don't we wait a bit?

Mary : Absolutely. You're right. Yeah.

Mary : How about now?

Tim : Yeah, okay.

Mary : Really?

Tim : Dad always wished there had been more of us.

So… Anyway, we might try and nothing happens.

Mary : Exactly.

 

Scene 74 (1:49:39) 

Mary : Really could be tonight.

Tim : And you cannot believe the detail in which I know the route to the hospital.

Mary : Yay.

Tim : Will you excuse me for a sec?

Just have to go downstairs.

Dad : and it's 17-20 in this incredibly tight contest being played by the two most physically perfect players in the history of the game.

The crowd, enchanted by the younger player, are seduced by memories of the older player's illustrious past.

Dad : Oh, my God, I've won. I haven't won in years.

Tim : You finally got good.

Dad : What’s my prize?

Tim : A kiss will have to do.

Dad : A kiss? A Kiss?

Oh. I get you. This is it, then?

Tim : This is it.

It's my last bit of extra time.

The baby is completely on the way.

Dad : Oh.

Dad : Congratulations.

Dad : My son.

Tim : My dad.

Is there anything at all I can do?

Dad : Is there anything you want to do?

I don't know. There is this one thing.

A quick little walk.

Totally against the rules, of course, but if we don't change a thing, if we're very careful, it shouldn't do any harm. It would be nice.

 

Scene 75 (1:53:19) 

Tim : So I'm almost up-to-date with my story.

- modern, recent, or containing the latest information:

As all families do, we got used to life after death.

And it was still fine. And things settled back into their traditional rhythms season after season, and are much as they have always been. And we've got used to Kit Kat being happy again.

And then we got used to her being a mum.

Albeit not a very good or even safe one.

And in the end, I think I've learned the final lesson from my travels in time.

And I've even gone one step further than my father did.

Mary : Okay, I'll do the kids.

Tim : No, don't worry. I'll do them.

Mary : Yeah, you do them, you lazy bum.

- a person who is lazy or who does something badly

Tim : The truth is, I now don't travel back at all.

Not even for the day. I just try to live every day as if I've deliberately come back to this one day to enjoy it as if it was the full final day of my extraordinary, ordinary life.

 

Scene 76 (1:54:54) 

Tim : Hello, you’re down already. That’s great. Thank you so much for that.

And in we go. Come on.

Tim : Posy! Posy.

Tim : That’s fine.

Tim : We’re all travelling through time together every day of our lives.

All we can do is do our best to relish this remarkable ride.

Joanna : Yes, yes, yes.

Mary : Okay, I’ll see you then.

Tim : Bye-bye. See you later.
